How does a speak-up channel differ from a whistleblowing scheme?
The speak-up channel is where employees can turn; the whistleblowing scheme is the formal procedure that is legally required from 50 employees onwards and covers wrongdoing in the public interest. Soterna brings both together: one safe entry point, with the right route and deadlines per type of report behind it.
What should you look for when choosing speak-up software?
Look for genuine anonymity (no IP logging, two-way communication), conflict checks so a report never reaches those involved, deadline tracking in line with the Dutch Whistleblower Protection Act, k-anonymous board reporting, a complete audit trail and EU hosting with privacy by design. Is a digital speak-up channel legally required?
Organisations with 50 or more employees are required under the Dutch Whistleblower Protection Act to have an internal reporting channel. Digital speak-up software makes compliance demonstrable.
How quickly can a speak-up channel go live?
